My history of body work began with Shiatsu. I was a Shiatsu Practitioner, and thought that it was the best alternative massage therapy that I gave or experienced. I had many clients and they too thought that Shiatsu was wonderful. A friend of mine went to Northern India and learned a little Thai Massage and what she could remember she did on me and I couldn't believe it, it was amazing! I realized that perhaps my calling did not lay in Shiatsu, but in Thai Massage. At that point I knew that I had to learn it.

The Sun Shine Network
in Thailand was where I learned Thai Massage. Learning with Asokananda at the Sun Shine Network and with his senior teachers was a honor and privilege. It was there where I truly fell in love with this form of body work. It was unlike anything that I had ever learned or experienced and once learning this there was no turning back.

Sadly Asokananda died on Friday, 24 June 2005.Deeply respected for his spiritual life, studies and teachings, we know his light will forever stay with us. Through each massage we give, every student we teach, we will always be thankful for what he simply allowed us to discover and share.

After being in Thailand and learning Thai Massage, I moved to Chicago where I was teaching Shiatsu at a Acupuncture School and a Massage school as well as working at an AID's clinic. I was talking about Thai Massage to one of my fellow workers and they mentioned that they had heard of two women that taught it. Upon finding their phone number for them, I called them that night and began studying with them the very next day. I continued to study with them for the next three years and after those three years I began to teach Thai Massage at the Acupuncture School and at a Massage School in Chicago and Racine. Their School was called Open Secrets, and sadly they no longer teach. Though their enthusiasm and wonderful way of teaching will stay with me for the rest of my life. Eventually was time for me to leave the United States and I found myself in Montreal. I began to study at theLotus Palm school. With great joy and gratitude I eventually became a teacher for Lotus Palm.
I would travel with my teaching for Lotus Palm and every time I would come to the West Coast to teach it became harder and harder for me to go back to Montreal. So after 4 1/2 years I left Montreal and moved to Victoria.

Since being here I have studied with Kristin Nuttall
and Tom Holt.

I also have studied with Saul David Raye
and his senior teachers Phoebe Diftler and Bill Hufschmidt

One very important thing
that I have learned
is that you can never stop learning Thai Massage. Everytime I learn something new in Thai Massage, I am reminded of how much I love Thai Massage.
